Zeptosecond |
Purwakarta – Time is the entire series of ongoing activity processes. In this case, the time scale is the interval between two circumstances/events, or it can be thought of as the duration of an event.
Time is also indicated by a unit scale of measurement. The following is an example of a 1 year time convention in other time conversion units.
1 year = 31536025,228 seconds
1 year = 525600,420 minutes
1 year = 8760.007 hours
1 year = 365,0002 days
1 year = 52.142 weeks
1 year = 12 months
1 year = 0.1 decade
1 year = 0.01 century
Then what is the smallest unit of time??
Scientists have measured the world’s smallest unit of time, and it’s called the zeptosecond. Zeptosecond is a unit of time equal to 0.000 000 000 000 000 000 000 001 seconds, i.e. 10-²¹ seconds, and with the symbol zs.
Zeptoseconds were recorded by a group of scientists at Goethe University, in Germany and published in the journal Science.
The scientists measured how long it took a photon to cross a hydrogen molecule – about 247 zeptoseconds – making this measurement the shortest time span ever recorded. According to Albert Einstein Photon is a quantum of light is a packet of electromagnetic radiation energy.
But how small is a zeptosecond…?
A zeptosecond is a trillionth of a millionth of a second. That’s a decimal point followed by 20 zeros and 1s, and looks like this: 0.000 000 000 000 000 000 001. The only unit of time shorter than the zeptosecond is the yoctosecond. A yoctosecond (ys) is one millionth of a second.
