Pickled Fresh Fruit |
Purwakarta – Pickled fruit is one form of how to enjoy fruits that are unique in Indonesia.
Basically, pickles are foods made by salting them with salt and pickling them with vinegar.
Asinan buah means fruit soaked in a solution of water and salt, which tastes similar to rujak.
There are many pickled fruits on the market, but there is nothing wrong with making your own pickles at home.
1. Fresh Fruit Pickled Recipe
Ingredients :
1 pineapple
2 cucumbers
2 pieces of yam
papaya fruit
5 fruits
Fried peanuts, to taste
Ingredients for the pickled gravy:
1 liter of water
130 grams of sugar
4 large red chilies
10 curly red chilies
3 tablespoons lime juice/lemon/vinegar
2 tsp salt
How to make:
1. Prepare all the necessary fruits, peel and cut them according to taste.
2. Set aside for a while.
3. Blend chilies with some water, then pour into a saucepan.
4. Turn on medium heat, add sugar and salt.
5. Let it boil and sugar dissolves. Then, turn off the heat and cool.
6. Once cool, add the lime juice/lemon/vinegar, then stir until evenly distributed.
7. Pour the sauce over the cut fruit until it is all submerged.
8. Leave in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours or more.
9. Fresh pickled fruit is ready to be served with a sprinkling of fried peanuts.
2. Spicy Pickled Fruit Recipe
Ingredients :
1 mango fruit
1 red sweet potato
1 piece of yam
pineapple
1 cucumber
2 liters of water
2 tsp salt
10 tbsp sugar
100 ml white vinegar
Ingredients for the ground spices:
5 red bird’s eye
5 curly red chilies
How to make :
1. Prepare all the fruits needed.
2. Wash all the fruit, peel the pineapple, yam, red sweet potato, then slice thinly.
3. Meanwhile, leave the skin on the cucumber and mango and then slice thinly.
4. Boil water in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the chili paste, sugar, salt and vinegar. Then, cook until boiling.
5. After boiling, cook another 10 minutes.
6. Remove and allow to cool at room temperature.
7. When the gravy has cooled, pour it over the fruit pieces.
8. Store in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
9. Spicy pickled fruit is ready to be served for the family.
